Techloy: Nigerian fintech startup Klasha raises an additional $2.1 million in seed round
Klasha, a Nigeria and San Francisco-based payment solution firm has raised an additional $2.1 million in its seed round funding at a total of $4.5 million.
The funds will help the startup to expand in streamlining cross border commerce from Africa to the rest of the world.
Klasha is solving the problems merchants and consumers face when they pay for products online using different channels.
The firm uses one API to enable KlashaCheckout where merchants outside Africa can receive payment from Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, and Kenya, and KlashaWire, a channel that allows merchants in the six focus countries to pay their suppliers in local currencies.
American Express (AMEX) Ventures, an investment group of American Express co-led the new round with Global Ventures.
