How we protect your money at Klasha

    More than 300,000 people use Klasha to pay globally. We know being trusted with your money is a big responsibility, and we don’t take it lightly. We’ve implemented measures to guarantee your safety on Klasha;

    Account Verification

We ensure that everyone who creates a Klasha account is legitimate. We do this with verifiable details from government identity databases. We also perform liveness checks to prevent identity theft.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) on the login

When you try to log in with your email and password, we send a 6-digit verification code to your registered email to grant access to your account.

We have added this second-level verification to further prevent unauthorized access to your account.

    Hashed database

Your password, OTP, and transaction PIN are hashed (***) in our database. This means no human, including Klasha staff, can read or decrypt your sensitive information on the app.

No Klasha staff will ask you for your password, OTP, or transaction PINs. We do not need this information to support you.

    Account auto-locks and restriction

We alert you whenever a login attempt is made with the wrong password or PIN. After the fourth consecutive attempt, your account will be restricted. You will be required to reset your password to regain access.

    Flagged and blocked accounts

We flag and sometimes block accounts with suspicious activities. There are some signs we look out for to determine if someone’s using an account in ways that violate our policies. Once this is identified, we flag the account for investigation.

After our internal review, we may block suspicious accounts permanently, depending on the investigation results. We do this to protect your money and that of other Klasha users.

You have an essential part to play

Fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated techniques to steal money. While we constantly review and improve our fraud prevention tactics, you have an essential role in preventing fraud.

There are several steps you can take to protect your Klasha account from scammers:

    1. Use strong passwords: Make sure your online banking passwords are strong and unique, and don't use the same password for multiple accounts. Use a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols to make it difficult for hackers to guess.

    2. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for emails: We mostly communicate app updates via emails. Make sure 2FA protects your email.

    3. Keep your personal information safe: Be cautious about giving out your personal information, such as your BVN, date of birth, or account numbers, to anyone. Scammers often try to obtain this information through phishing scams or other means.

    4. Monitor your account regularly: Monitor your account for any unusual activity, such as unexpected withdrawals or purchases. Report any suspicious activity to our support team via support@klasha.com immediately.

    5. Be wary of unsolicited calls or emails: Scammers often use phishing emails or phone calls to trick people into giving up their personal information. Be skeptical of any unsolicited requests for your personal information and verify the identity of the person or organization before providing any sensitive information. Contact us directly on the app before giving out personal information when in doubt.

    6. Update your device's operating software when available: Most updates come with improved security to protect you from scammers, so keep your phone and Klasha app updated.

Following these steps can help protect your Klasha account from scammers and keep your money safe.

If you see transactions on your account that you don't recognize or didn't authorize, please contact our support team via support@klasha.com or WhatsApp +1 (213) 863-0549.
